Video – Jake Shimabukuro
One of the most exciting new players of the ukulele is Hawaiian born Jake Shimabukuro.
Famous for his lightning-fast fingers and unique interpretations of familiar tunes, Jake is rewriting all the Ukulele books. He demonstrates to everyone that the ukulele is virtually untapped and capable of way more than the typical Hawaiian music most often associated with this instrument.
From strumming his first chord at just age 4, Jake was hooked. Over the years his passion has only deepened and his experimentation with the instrument has never ceased.
You can't put Jake in a box - his playing covers everything from blues to rock, folk, jazz, classical, funk, bluegrass, flamenco and beyond. Whether he's playing his version of a Led Zeppelin number in a Honolulu cafe, or accompanying Bette Midler at a concert hall in England in front of the Queen, Jake Shimabukuro continues to enthrall people with his virtuosity on the humble little ukulele.
